THE SERPENT'S EGG (1988)

Nell'Aprile 1988 rilasciano il loro quarto album, "The Serpent's Egg".
"In una quantità di fotografie aeree della Terra, se la associ ad un organismo gigante - un macrocosmo - puoi vedere che l'origine della forza vitale, l'acqua, viaggia in percorsi tortuosi simili ad una serpentina.", Perry dice del titolo dell'album.
"Avevo una visione di questa serpentina abbracciata intorno alla Terra, come un serpente intorno ad un uovo. Di nuovo ci protendevamo verso un periodo precoce della musica europea...Gli elementi romantici erano scomparsi.".

In April 1988, Dead Can Dance released their forth album, "The Serpent's Egg".
"In a lot of aerial photographs of the earth, if you look upon it as a giant organism - a macrocosmos- you can see that the nature of the life force, water, travels in a serpentine way.", Perry says of the album's title. "I had a vision of this serpent-like embrace around the the earth, like a snake coiled around an egg. Again we were telescoping into an earlier period of European music…The romantic elements had disappeared.".
